United States — March 26, 2026

Netflix confirmed US price increases on March 26, 2026. New subscribers saw the higher prices from that date; existing subscribers were rolled in over the following billing cycles. This is Netflix's fifth price increase in six years in the US.

The Standard plan crossing $20/month is a symbolic milestone for a service that launched at $7.99 in 2010. The ad-supported tier, which didn't exist until late 2022, is now $9 — higher than the original Standard plan price.

United Kingdom — 2026 increases across all tiers

Spain — April 27, 2026

Netflix raised prices in Spain effective April 27, 2026. Spanish subscribers were proactively notified before the change — a consequence of Netflix's legal dispute in Italy, where a Rome court found that insufficient subscriber notice before price changes violated consumer law. Italy — court ruling complicates the picture

Italy is a special case in 2026. A Rome court ruled that Netflix's cumulative price increases from 2017–2024 violated Italian consumer law. Why are French and Spanish prices so much higher than German?

France (€14.99 Standard) and Spain (€14.99) are both €1 more expensive than Germany (€13.99) for the equivalent plan, despite all three being in the eurozone.
